Set up family restock in 5 minutes
Add what you buy, set what “low” means, allow local alerts, then share a tiny shopping list from what’s running out — not a meal planner.
Minute 1–2: Add what you actually buy
Open household inventory and add the food, fridge, and cleaning items you restock regularly. Skip pantry trivia. A stock list is what you have; the shopping list comes later from what’s low.
Minute 3: Set reorder thresholds
For each item, define the quantity that means “buy soon.” Thresholds keep the family list short. Details: low-stock alerts.
Minute 4: Allow local alerts
Turn on local notifications so the phone can nudge you when stock crosses a threshold. These are on-device alerts — not a cloud marketing drip.
Minute 5: Share the tiny list
Generate a shopping list from what’s low and share it. Text-share is free. Optional live family links are Tnylst Plus ($4.99 one-time). Core inventory still stays on the iPhone — see on-device inventory and family shopping list.
What you’re not setting up
No meal plan, no recipe OS, no weekly menu. If an app leads with meal planning, it’s a different job — compare in vs pantry apps.
FAQ
Do we need accounts for everyone?
No shared cloud account is required for core inventory. Text-share works free; live links are Plus.
Does inventory leave the phone?
Core stock stays on the iPhone. Live family links (Plus) sync list state — not a fully offline claim.
Is this a meal planner?
No — restock only.
